Emergencies can happen anytime, and for the constant commuter, it can happen while one is on the road. A bug out bag prepared but left at home then can be of no use it the emergency happens while an individual is out of the home and driving.

In fact, even if he is at home, and he would need his car for an emergency, he will be thankful that he kept a bag with survival supplies in the car to sustain him and help him with the emergency till he gets the help that he needs. AutoGlass Safety Council         

The US Department of Homeland Security described what a go bag should contain. “A disaster supplies kit is simply a collection of basic items your household may need in the event of an emergency. Try to assemble your kit well in advance of an emergency. You may have to evacuate at a moment’s notice and take essentials with you. You will probably not have time to search for the supplies you need or shop for them. You may need to survive on your own after an emergency. This means having your own food, water and other supplies in sufficient quantity to last for at least 72 hours.
